MISSION
The Ward Fund's mission is to promote education in science and technology, especially in the study of chemistry. The Fund works each day to carry out the life work and legacy of the late Professor Victor E. Ward, Former Chaiman of the Chemistry Department at the University of Liberia. Professor Ward was killed during the Liberian civil war of 1990.

1954 - Became Liberia's first Chemist

1960 - Became the first Chemical Analyst at the Water Plant, White Plains, Liberia-

1967 - Became Assistant Professor of Chemistry, University of Liberia

1970 - Became Chairman of the Department of Chemistry, University of Liberia

1974 - Selected Fullbright Professor - California State University at Sacremento

1988 - He established the Liberian Science and Technology Association (LISTA)

1989 - Attended the first Pan African Union of Science & Technology Association Conference in Ghana
